# Filevine

> How to connect Filevine projects to LOIS for Word, attach matter context to contract reviews, and save reviewed documents back to Filevine directly from Word.

The Filevine integration lets you pull project context into LOIS and save your working documents back to Filevine without leaving Word.

## Signing in

Select **Continue with Filevine** when you first launch the add-in. Your selected Filevine organization is remembered across sessions, so you only need to pick it once.

## Attaching a Filevine project

Use the Filevine button below the chat input to open the project picker.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick a project">
    The first screen shows your recent projects and a searchable list of all projects. Select a project to stage it.

    From here you can:

    * Select **Use project** to attach the entire project as context, or
    * Select **Choose files** to drill into specific folders and files
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose files (optional)">
    The file tree shows the project's folder hierarchy. Expand folders to see their contents — file counts appear next to each folder.

    Toggle **Use entire project as context** at the top to switch back to whole-project mode without leaving the screen.

    Select individual files, then click **Attach N files** to add them.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Attached projects appear as a tag above your message. Hover the tag to see the project name and any selected files. Select the tag to reopen the picker and adjust your selection.

## Searching for projects in chat

When you mention a project by name in a message, LOIS can search Filevine directly and return matching results as part of its response — no need to manually attach a project first if you only need a quick lookup.

## Saving documents to Filevine

From the more options menu in the add-in footer, choose **Save to Filevine** to save the current document into a Filevine project.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick a project">
    Select the destination project from the project picker.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a folder">
    Choose where in the project to save the file. Folders are selectable; existing files are shown disabled so you can see what's already in each folder before saving.

    To save at the project root, leave no folder selected and click save.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The drawer closes when the save completes. If the save fails, an error appears inline so you can retry.

Save to Filevine is available to all Filevine users, regardless of whether you've started a review.
