LOIS for Word handles several types of customer data, including account information, organization settings, chats, playbooks, prompts, and saved precedent. How long content remains available depends on the type of data and your organization’s settings.

Data stored in LOIS for Word

Content intentionally saved to your organization remains available until it is deleted or its applicable retention period expires. This includes:
  • Profiles, playbooks, checks, and saved prompts
  • Precedent and knowledge-base content
  • Organization and user settings
  • Chat history retained according to the organization’s configured policy
Organization admins can configure how long chat history is kept. See Organization settings for available controls and limitations.

AI-provider processing

When a feature uses an external AI model, the information needed to complete the request is sent to the applicable model provider. Provider processing is governed separately from content stored in LOIS for Word. For details about provider retention controls, see AI provider data retention.

Service improvement

We use data in two limited ways:
  • Explicit feedback only
    Feedback you give (e.g. thumbs up/down) may be reviewed by our engineering team to improve accuracy or catch bugs.
  • Anonymized analytics
    De-identified, aggregate usage data may be used to improve system performance and reliability. No clause content or user-submitted text is included.
Customer data is shared only with service providers needed to operate the product and complete requested features, subject to applicable contractual and technical controls.

Data processing agreement (DPA)

We offer a detailed Data Processing Agreement that outlines:
  • How your data is handled and stored
  • Our confidentiality obligations
  • Security safeguards and breach protocols
  • Retention and deletion policies

Data residency

All data processed by LOIS for Word stays within the United States.
  • No international data transfers
  • US-based infrastructure and legal jurisdiction
  • Simplifies compliance for domestic organizations
